I was listening to a cd the other day when the speaker said, “be grateful for what you have and work with it”. After reflection I thought that it was a very true and profound statement.Grateful

How many of us ignore what we have, to live in the past and the future. In our rush to do this we ignore what we have and keep on yearning for the “good old days” or “if only I had this I could”. The reality is that we all have a set of tools that we can use to make our lives the way that we want. By yearning and wishing we ignore these resources and we end up with a life that is not what we envisioned.

Many people when they come to quit smoking cigarettes tell me that they fear doing it as they have failed in the past. These people are living in the past and are a prisoner to their past. Better to be grateful for so called failure to quit smoking. It is not failure but just feedback to help you overcome what has happened in the past.

Take the time to take stock of what you have and be grateful for what you have. Be aware and grateful for the things in your life. Above all be grateful for the challenges because it is only through challenges that we grow. When you know what you want in life and are grateful for the resources that you have you can move forward, move forward to removing the blocks in your life that prevent you from having the life that you want.
