When using hypnosis to help people quit smoking one of the most common questions asked of me is; can I be hypnotised?choice
The answer is that only a few people cannot be hypnotised. These are people with a low IQ or certain mental problems. Of course, if you do not want to be hypnotised and you resist then you will not be hypnotised.
All hypnosis is, is a state of focus and acceptance that causes a change of state. We all spend our lives going in and out of hypnotic trance. In fact, we spend about 70 to 80 percent of our lives in a hypnotic trance.
One of the easiest ways to go into a hypnotic trance is to watch TV. When you are engrossed in your program you know there is stuff going on around you but you don’t take it in. you are in a light trance. TV knows all about this and the reason that the ads are put on louder is they know that when you are in a light trance you are more accepting. The same occurs when you are travelling from A to B all the time. You get to A or B and you are not sure how you got there. You have been in a trance.
So, the answer is you can be hypnotised if you want to. When you come to stop smoking cigarettes using hypnosis then you should put yourself into the mindset that you want to be hypnotised and you want it to work.
At the end of the day it comes down to you get what you think. If you think that you can be hypnotised then you will, if you think you can’t then you will not be hypnotised. It’s your choice!
