The lungs in our bodies are designed to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide when we breathe. The lungs also act as a filter and filter out pollutants from the air that we inhale. These pollutants enter our bloodstream and if in enough quantity can cause serious diseases.

When you smoke you add some interesting chemicals into your lungs and body. Here are some of the pollutants you add when you smoke:

Cadmium which is found most commonly in batteries. Cadmium is extremely poisonous and leads to kidney damage over time.

Tar is an ingredient found in roads and tires as well as cigarettes. A two pack a day smoker inhales one gram of tar a day. That is a litre of thick, gooey tar inhaled a year.

Toluene is found in the glue used to keep cigarettes together. It produces euphoria and irritates the airway and lungs.

Naphthalene’s  which causes reproductive and brain breakdown

Arsenic which irritates the lungs and causes abnormal heartbeat.

Nicotine which interferes with blood circulation.

Acetone which irritates the lungs and is a carcinogen.

The ammonia in bleach speeds the delivery of nicotine.

The good news is that when you quit smoking your body begins to repair itself very quickly . By stopping smoking cigarettes you can give your body a second chance to become healthy.

Whatever method you choose, will power, drugs, acupuncture, hypnosis or NLP it makes sense to stop smoking cigarettes and stop exposing you to the horrible chemicals that are found in cigarettes.
