Darn!! Started Again!

Around about 5% of the clients that come to see us at Quit Smoking in 60 Minutes for quitting smoking cigarettes with hypnosis start smoking again. Why is this so? I have been doing some analysis of our clients and have come up with two main reasons why people who quit smoking with us using hypnosis start smoking again.

The first reason is that the client did not really want to quit smoking. You would think that if somebody came to see us they really did want to quit. Everybody that smokes needs to quit smoking but not everybody wants to. […]

Quit Smoking Now and Live 10 Years Longer

The effect of smoking on the skin and aging is obvious when I see clients at Quit Smoking in 60 Minutes in Capalaba. Smokers do look older than they are.
A new study says that if women quit smoking before the age of 30 they could almost completely reverse the impact of smoking, while those aged forty could stand to add at least ten years to their life.
It may surprise you to learn that, in both the US and the UK, smoking ranks higher than obesity as the leading cause of preventable deaths.
This fact has spurred UK researchers, funded by Cancer […]

What’s Trust Got To Do With It?

If you want to go into a hypnotic trance to quit smoking you need to trust your hypnotherapist. One of the most important things to establishing trance is to trust and accept all the suggestions that your hypnotherapist gives you 100%. If you question or do not accept the suggestion then you will not go into trance. It’s fundamental in going into trance.

The other day at Quit Smoking in 60 Minutes in Capalaba had a client and as we were talking I could see that this person saw the world as black and white and that he judged people solely […]

Why Can’t I Quit?

The other day at Quit Smoking in 60 Minutes in Capalaba I had a client who said that he had been doing drugs such as speed and ice for 10 years and had given it up but he couldn’t quit smoking! Why is this so?

The answer lies in the fact that the habit of smoking is linked to survival where drugs aren’t. As I have said previously 99.9% of my clients start smoking to fit in. the urge to fit in is very strong because our brains think that we are in the caveman times. If you are being chased […]

E Cigarettes: Good or Bad?

Electronic cigarettes are gaining ground as people search for what they perceive is a healthier way to beat the habit of smoking. I get more and more clients at quit smoking in 60 minutes who have tried e-cigarettes in the hope of quitting smoking. The problem is that they do not quit, they just change the habit from smoking cigarettes to smoking e-cigarettes. I for one do not believe they are healthier if nicotine is involved. When are people going to wake up to the fact that nicotine is extremely poisonous and stresses your circulatory system.

While most researchers say e-cigarettes […]

Be grateful for what you have

I was listening to a cd the other day when the speaker said be grateful for what you have and work with it. After reflection I thought that it was a very true and profound statement.

How many of us ignore what we have to live in the past and the future. In our rush to do this we ignore what we have and keep on yearning for the “good old days” or “if only I had this I could”. The reality is that we all have a set of tools that we can use to make our lives the way […]

What Do You Tolerate?

What do you tolerate? This is a question that I ask my clients when they come to me to quit smoking in Capalaba. You smoke because you get some benefit from it. No matter how much you think that you are not getting a benefit, you do. We do nothing in this world unless we get a benefit. When you smoke for your benefit how much do you tolerate? Think about it, to get a benefit from smoking you are tolerating that you will probably die earlier, your future quality of life will be affected and you are opening yourself […]

What you think is what you get!

Just recently at quit smoking in 60 minutes in Capalaba I had a client who came to me with what he termed depression. With a bit of investigation I found out that he was depressed because his business was not doing well and that is all he could think of. Typically, what he was thinking was what he was getting. With further talking I found out that he had a great skill in solving problems. I then asked him to change his thinking. I asked him to think of his lack of business as a problem and as a great […]

Blogs are they true?

Just recently I came across this blog;
“When we quit smoking, most of us go through a fair amount of junkie thinking – the internal battle between our addiction and ourselves. Early on in smoking cessation, the dialogue can seem relentless. It’s often persistent, annoying and exhausting. It is however, temporary, and the less attention you give to unhealthy thoughts of smoking, the better.
Thoughts of smoking just one cigarette have been the ruin of many good quitting efforts. It’s important for you to realize ahead of time that these mental contortions are a normal part of the recovery process.”
There are a […]

The Cost of Smoking

I ask my clients when they come in for quit smoking what it costs them. This is not just from the health view but how much money it costs to smoke. Most people cannot tell me. Why is this? I think it is for two reasons;
1. The cost to smoke is not seen in a lump sum. Payment is packet by packet and so the total cost is not seen.
2. People don’t want to acknowledge the cost.
The actual cost of cigarettes makes more impact in first world countries as taxation has made smoking expensive. This still does not prevent people from smoking. […]
